Rhino Poachers at large

Maun police are investigating a case in which a rhino was found dead at NG 30 area near Kuruxaraga cattle post in the buffalo fence.
Speaking in an interview with BOPA, the Deputy Officer Commanding for District No. 5, Superintendent John Kelebeng said the incident was reported by a passerby, and was attended to by members of the Botswana Defence Force, wildlife and the police.
He said investigations revealed that the rhino was shot at and that the carcass was intact including the horn which is mostly targeted by the poachers. Police are appealing to the public to help them with information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.
Senior Superintendent Kelebeng expressed concern about the rate of poaching in the area. end
