Woman found in pool of blood

Police in Tutume are in search of suspects in connection with the death of a woman aged between 30-35 years at Selolwane kgotla in Tutume.

 In an interview, Tutume police station commander Superintendent Jerry Halahala said they are investigating the incident in which they suspect the woman was murdered just in front of the house she was renting on Monday night.

 Superintendent Halahala further explained that their investigation have revealed that the woman is suspected  to be an illegal immigrant from Zimbabwe who was employed as maid by one of the residents in Tutume.

And they have since also contacted the employer who will also be charged for employing an illegal immigrant without residence and work permits adding that they have established that she has been employed there since March this year.

He therefore noted that so far they have since contacted their counterparts in Zimbabwe and they are undertaking a joint investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Halahala added that the deceased’s body is at a mortuary in Tutume for postmortem.

 He nonetheless appealed to Batswana to desist from employing illegal immigrants noting that in times of problems, it becomes a challenge to identify the real originality of the person more so that in most cases when they come in Botswana they do not use their proper names. BOPA
