A Molepolole man aged between 30 and 39, who was residing in Dukwi, has burnt himself to death.
Speaking in an interview, Tutume police station commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala, said they received a report that a vehicle was burning five kilometres away from Tutume along Tutume-Mosetse road.
He said they found a burnt vehicle and upon searching it, they noticed a body that was burnt beyond recognition in the boot.
In their investigations, Superintendent Halahala said information from the deceased’s relatives and friends was that he had informed them through short messages that he would commit suicide.
The body was still awaiting postmortem.
Superintendent Halahala appealed to people to always seek help whenever they had problems instead of taking their lives.
Meanwhile, in Dukwi Superintendent Goitsemang Mokgatle of Dukwi police reported that they were investigating an incident in which an owner of tuck shop in Dukwi was robbed his VW Golf car and over P1 700 by three unknown men.
He said the man was also assaulted and as a result, he was hospitalised in Tutume.
He said the incident was the first of its kind in his policing area.
Nonetheless, he appealed to business people to be vigilant of people they suspected when opening their businesses, adding that time towards festive season was when criminals go on rampage.
In another incident, a man aged 60 years slipped into the borehole and died. ENDS
