 Botswana Ash general manager (GM), Mr Montswedi Mphathi has implored Serowe District Health Management Team (DHMT) staff to adopt productivity and excellence as a brand.

Mr Mphathi who was officiating at DHMT staff achievement awards at Serowe on Friday, also encouraged the staff to take responsibility in ensuring the provision of quality health services.

He reminded them that the world is competitive and there is a demand for quality services, advancing that even nonprofit making organisations have a purpose to fulfill, and to satisfy customers.

Botswana Ash GM said customers are demanding better service and therefore said it calls for transformation.

“We need to transform and make sure that there is no room for mediocrity. Value for money, is well spent if we get excellent service,”Mr Mphathi added.

He encouraged DHMT to come up with initiatives that are   customer focused and which bring pride to their organisation and ministry at large.

Mr Mphathi pointed out that the process of employee recognition cannot be over emphasised in a workplace environment.

He stated that a motivated and contended workforce will uphold customer satisfaction and excellence as its prime indicator of performance.

In his welcome remarks, DHMT head, Dr Nahanson Kombe said they will continue rewarding performing employees, saying that recognition instill sense of belongings and effectiveness.

He also said it promotes good organisational culture.

During the night, a total of 46 individuals received awards.

Serowe DHMT special awards went to principal nursing officer I, Ms Pamela Lebodi (nursing unit), driver leading hand, Mr Elisha Obabaletse (transport) and Dr Alain Kashama (Doctors).

Tshimoyapula clinic and Sekgoma memorial hospital grounds scooped DHMT best facility /team-special award.

The award ceremony was themed A Transformed ,Effective, United  and Proud Workforce. ENDS
