Nata police hold workshop on morality
12 Oct 2016
Police in Nata have decided to call the community and other stakeholders to a workshop to sensitise them on issues of morality.
Nata station commander Superintendent Otsile Fane, said since beginning of the year, they have had 14 cases of rape in their area.
He, therefore, noted that the one-day workshop scheduled for Nata kgotla on Friday (October 14) would be on offenses against morality such as rape and defilement.
Superintendent Fane noted that compared to urban areas, 14 cases for a place such as Nata were a high number, therefore, it was important that they sensitise the community on such issues.
Their target group, he noted, included youth, women, men and the elderly because they had realised that some perpetrators were targeting elderly women who were defenseless and they attacked them at their homes.
And this, he said was an indication the attackers would be aware that the old woman stayed or spent most of her time alone.
He therefore asserted that they believed that at the end of the workshop there would be change of behavior on people and respect towards one another.
He added that the workshop will be held under the theme: We are Godly Created Family, Remember Woman Rights are Human Right.”ENDS
