Two year-old girl man perish in road mishaps

A two year-old girl and a 25 year old man perished on two different road mishaps on independence day.

In an interview with BOPA, Superintendent Cyprian Magalila of Tatitown Police said the accident, which claimed the life of the small girl, happened along Maun/Francistown road.  

He said the Toyota Hilux that was being driven by a 36 year-old mother to the deceased overturned at Marapong junction,  leaving the driver and her two sons aged five and 19 injured.

“The girl was certified dead upon arrival at Nyangabwe hospital and others were treated and discharged with minor injuries,” he added.

In another incident, an accident claimed a life of a 25 years old man who was a passenger in a Toyota RunX in the early hours of Independence Day.

He said the accident happened between Borolong and Makobo/Natale junction.

Supt Magalila added that the car, which had two occupants, overturned and the passenger was certified dead upon arrival at Nyangabwe hospital while the driver, 36 years, was admitted and he is in a stable condition.

Names of the deceased are withheld until the relatives are informed while the police investigations are continuing

He encouraged people to rest before taking long trips as fatigue mostly contributes to accidents especially during holidays. Ends
