Bobirwa enjoys crime free celebrations

Police in the Bobonong and Semolale stations have recorded no major cases of targeted crimes that include murder, rape, house breaking, store breaking, road accidents, road accidents, threat to kill, motor vehicle breaking and stock theft.

In an interview Bobonong Police station commander superintendent Paul Seoko stated that his office did no record anything serious on Independence Day but only few cases of assaults.

Supt Seoko stated that there were choirs held at Motloutse River and Cappacino Bar where most of the cases were recorded.

He said from the assaults no one was admitted at the hospital and that there were no major cases such as murder, threat to kill, rape, motor vehicle breaking reported to his station.

Supt Seoko however said on Independence Day at the Bobonong kgotla where a certain man collapsed at the kgotla when queuing for food ration during time of serving.

The man was rushed to hospital and was certified dead by the doctor at the hospital, he said.

He said the deceased a resident of Moletemane village had visited his girl friend in Bobonong and next of kin have been informed about the incident while investigation continues.

The station commander stated that the police were in joint patrols day and night with members of the Botswana Defence Force to arrest crime in the area and it was bearing fruit.

 In Semolale supt Gaolaolwe Motlhagodi also stated that Independence celebrations were crime free in his policing area.

Supt Motlhagodi said the only unfortunate incident they recorded was on September 28 where a South African national was found drowned in a swimming pool in the morning at Setlhare Lodge in the Mashatu Game Reserve area.

The deceased together with his counterparts were conducting at maintenance work at the lodge, and investigations were ongoing on the matter. Ends
