Tati Town police are investigating an incident in which a 46-year old man  committed suicide on Friday in Borolong near Francistown.

Station commander, Superintendent Cyprian Magalela said they suspected that the deceased used a gun to kill himself as it was discovered next to where he was found at his parents' home.

However, Superintendent Magalela noted that the cause of death would be determined by the post mortem and  the deceased's body was at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital mortuary. 

He nonetheless stated that according to the family, there was no misunderstanding which could have led the deceased to take his life.  Superintendent Magalela therefore appealed to people with guns to purchase gun safe and have their guns stored under lock and key to avoid people who would unlawfully want to use them not to have easy access.

In addition, he highlighted that this was the second  incident in which a gun was used hence appealed to people to safe key their rifles at all times.   ENDS
