Suspect to answer for explosives

A 30-year-old man of Thamaga will be arraigned before Kanye Magistrate Court on two counts of shop breaking and unlawful possession of explosives in contravention of sections 299 and 85 of the Penal Code.

Superintendent Mmoloki Mogale of Kanye police said in an interview  that the suspect was nabbed inside Agrivet shop around 9pm on Sunday following a tip off.

The suspect was believed  to have used a tyre-lever to force his way into the shop .

If found guilty for shop breaking the suspect could be liable to a prison term not exceeding five years.

“Should the court also established  that the suspect possession of explosives is illegal, he will be sentenced to imprisonment not exceeding 10 years,” Superintendent Mogale stated. ENDS
