06 Jul 2016

Francistown principal magistrate, Mr Thebeetsile Mulalu has set August 10 as the mention date for a case in which Moemedi Olatetswe is charged with murder.

Mr Mulalu set the date after the investigating officer, Sergeant Kabelo Pheto of Botswana Police Service  stated that their investigations were ongoing.

The twenty-one-year-old Francistown man is accused of killing his girlfriend at Blue Town location on May 13, 2016 and was granted bail on June 23.

The facts of the case are that the accused on May 13, 2016 dumped the half naked  body of the deceased at a vegetable garden along the banks of Tati River. The police found the deceased body two weeks ago after she was reported missing by her worried boyfriend.

After a massive 11-day manhunt for the killer, police arrested Olatetswe on suspicion of the murder. ENDS
