Murder accused granted bail

A 21 year old Francistown man accused of killing his girl friend at Blue town location on May 13, 2016 was granted bail on June 23.
Sergeant Kabelo Pheto of the Botswana Police who appeared for the state said they had finalised the investigations, including the witnesses and forensic evidence from laboratory examinations. The accused person was granted bail on condition that he provided the amount of P1 000, bring two sureties that will each pay P1 000, and report to Tatitown Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Office every two weeks on the second Friday of the month at 730am to 430pm and also appear before magistrate court for mention on the specified dates.
The accused person allegedly dumped half naked body of Koziba Fani in a vegetable garden along the banks of Tati river and the police found it two weeks ago after she was reported missing.
After launching a massive 11-day manhunt for the killer, police finally made an arrest apprehending Moemedi Olatestwe, 21, on suspicion of the murder.
He appeared before Francistown Small Claims Magistrate Jennifer Chikate on June 23rd.
The accused person Moemedi Olatetswe who allegedly suffocated Koziba Fani to death will appear before Francistown magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu on Wednesday July 6th.ENDS
