With two weeks left to the grand finale of My Star Best of the best music competition, contestants are giving it all to make it to the finale.

At launch of the top four contestants in Tutume on June 18, hundreds that made it to Mc Connel College were shocked when the 2011 My Star winner, Bianca Gabasiane, was eliminated. 

The departure of Bianca left her predecessor, 2012 winner Sharon Sebonge of Masunga as the only female battling it out against three men.

They are Lazurus who made it to top five in 2008, Obakeng who also made to the top five in 2013 and Ontefetse who was eliminated on top five.

Battle for the top three would be taken to Shoshong next weekend while the grand finale would be staged in Gaborone on July 8. 

Prior to being eliminated, Bianca gave a lousy performance as though she was aware that she was the one to bite the dust.

With Obankeng and Lazurus having scored the highest votes and save from elimination, Bianca, Ontefetse and Sharon had to perform before the judges to secure a vote to save them.

 Sharon was saved by the first to judge  Kgomotso and Oats earning two votes which automatically saved her before the master mind of the My Star competition saved Ontefetse. 

    Speaking in an interview, Master D, the chief judge said they were overwhelmed by the attendance in Tutume having brought only the audition two years ago which at the time they realised that the venue which they used was too small hence at their next visit they should find a bigger space to accommodate the followers of the show.

 He said in future they will consider bringing different stages of show noting with the positive they received for the Best of Best edition, it is encouraging to make a comeback to Tutume.

  He further explained that in this year’s show they have not had audition rather they called on their previous participants as they celebrate their 10th anniversary and give back to their supporters who have been there since the first edition in 2007 which the winner was from the North in Francistown Tshepo Dikomang.

He therefore appealed to Batswana who watch the show to vote for their favourates as the show’s grand finale date is near. ENDS
