Murder suspects to appear Thursday

Hukuntsi magistrate Mr Jonny Baakile has remanded in custody two men who are accused of murdering Bosarutweng Kgangyame. 

The two accused persons, Thato Peter (28) of GaSekgalo ward in Kang and Tshepang Tshekelo (24) of Hukuntsi  are charged with a single count of murder contrary .

Particulars of the offence are that the duo on June 12 at Magobelelo ward in Hukuntsi  murdered Bosarutweng Kgangyame. Tshane Police, assistant station Commander, assistant superintendent Poloko Oteng stated in an interview that the incident  happened in the early morning of June 12 at Macheng filling station in Hukuntsi. 

He indicated that even though  police investigation were still on going, it was suspected that the two accused acted jointly and with a  common purpose to stab and murder Kgangyame with a sharp object. 

The deceased, he said was quickly rushed to Hukuntsi Primary Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival.

He said the deceased, aged 45 years was a soldier based at Thebephatswa military air base but had only been in Hukuntsi on a two day official trip.

He revealed that it is not yet clear what could have lead to the stabbing.

Magistrate Baakile also revoked Thato Peter’s bail term as the accused was on bail for two different offenses of assault common. 

The accused person was granted bail after he was charged with assaulting Aone Mogaga by strangling her throat until she became unconscious. He is also facing another  charge of causing grievous bodily harm by stabbing Mogaga above the right eye with a pair of scissors thereby deforming her eye.

The two accused are expected to appear again for mention on June 23. ENDS
