Music festival to spicy desert race

Event coordinator of the Desert Music Festival, Kaone Setlhako, says the 1000 Toyota Desert Race is not only about watching cars and motorbikes racing.

It goes an extra mile as it is also a way of socialising and having fun with musical entertainment.

Speaking on the side-lines of the mall activation over the weekend, he said this year's Desert Music Festival would be bigger and better.

Setlhako said the festival, which will be held at the Jwaneng Town Council stadium on June 25, would have an interesting line up that includes: Black Motion, DAAQ MUSIK,MMP Family, ATI, Charma Gal, Ditiro Leero, Team Distant and Mosako, as well as Deejays Goveia, Sly, Shaboo, Chrispin Kuchi,NTBase,Chabo,Stranger,Otis,Kenzo,Kenn,Daveboy,Phouboy,Lucy,Ngwazi,Khenzo,Guyvos,Deco and Daveboy.

He also said as a way of spicing up this year's festival, they had decided to rope in the Twerk Queens for a special performance.

Setlhako noted that advanced tickets were available at various places around the country for P100 for a normal ticket that would otherwise be available for P150 at the gate, whereas the VIP ticket costs P300.

“Even though this event is held in Jwaneng, we wanted to make it convenient for everyone who is interested in attending this event to get the tickets without having to travel all the way to Jwaneng more so that the desert race is an international event,” said Setlhako.

He said accommodation was limitted in Jwaneng therefore this festival would help as people will not be stranded because of lack of accommodation, rather they will spend the night at the festival then go to finish watching the races the next morning

He said tickets were available at different Liquorama stores including Kgale, Rail Park mall, Molapo, Bonnington, Mogoditshane, Information Centre, as well as Dlamin’s Cash Loan in Jwaneng. ENDS
