Police are investigating an incident in which a 61-year-old woman of Makalamabedi cattlepost near Takatokwane in the Letlhakeng Sub-district sliced off the nose of his 56-year-old live-in boyfriend with a slasher after an argument on Sunday (May 29) night.

In an interview, Takatokwane station commander, Supt Ocean Maraganyane said the argument ensured after the woman arrived late from a drinking spot, whereupon the boyfriend asked why she returned home late when she was supposed to prepare supper.

He said during the argument, the woman then picked a slasher and sliced off the boyfriend’s nose, leaving it hanging by a thread. Supt Maraganyane said the man was then rushed to Takatokwane clinic for medical attention.

“When he arrived at the clinic it was noted that the nose would be complicated to stick back on as a result he was referred to Princess Marina Hospital for surgery.

Supt Maraganyane said the woman appeared for mention at the Molepolole Magistrate Court on Monday where she faced a charge of unlawful wounding.

The charge carries a possible jail sentence not exceeding seven years.

Meanwhile, Supt Maraganyane said an elderly woman who was reported missing at Kaudwane recently was found alive and in good health. Ends
