Olatetswe appears for murder

29 May 2016

Principal Magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu of Francistown has set June 9 as a mention date for the case in which Moemedi Olatetswe (21) is charged with murder.

Mr Mulalu set the date after investigating officer, Sub-Inspector Tapiwa German made an application for Olatetswe to be remanded in custody because investigations were at an early stage.
Sub-Inspector German also requested to be given extra time for investigations including considering the statements from the witnesses.

He said the case was still fresh and he expressed fear that the accused might interfere with the investigations as he was arrested on May 24.

Sub-Inspector German said he also considered the safety of the victims family hence he applied for the accused to be remanded in custody.

Olatetswe is accused of murdering Ms Kodziba Fane on May 13 at Blue-town location in Francistown. Ends
