18 May 2016

Tati-Town police are appealing to members of the public to assist in arresting suspects in the murder of young woman aged 22 years.

The station commander, Superintendent Cyprian Magalela, said in an interview on Tuesday that the young woman was reported missing on May 14 and on the following day of May 15 was found in the bush at Bluetown near old Tati-town primary school, opposite vegetable gardens.

He stated that they immediately rushed her to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital where she was certified dead. Supt Magalela said that investigations were still on-going and that no one had been arrested in connection with the murder.

He said this was the second murder case recorded in his policing area since the beginning of the year and said information provided by the public will be treated as confidential.

On a different case, he appealed to the public again to assist the police on arresting some of the thieves who hijacked and ran away with a combi.

He revealed that the incident occurred at Marapong junction on Monday at around 9 pm  where-by many passengers dropped at from Francistown.

Supt Magalela said two men allegedly remained in the vehicle and later suffocated the combi driver aged 31 years before pushing him out of the combi before escaping with the vehicle.

He said the stolen combi is Toyota Super GL model and silver in color, with registration number plates of B747 BBV and therefore urged the public who might recognise it to call the nearest police. ends
