16 May 2016
His house tunes often confuse the local audience as if it is from across Botswana borders. He did it with Fire on the Mountain and lately the music industry is ablaze with Sedi Laka.
Chrispin The Drummer will on May 21 light Ghanzians with his latest offering Sedi Laka at the Winter MeltDown show at Hill Talk club.
The single track which features 21 year old lad Han-C from Mahalapye and Team Distant has been the highlight of gatherings around the country and also blazing the airwaves and enjoyed number one spot in all local radios, and still is in some radio stations like Gabz fm.
Released last year December, the song has been doing well and has claimed a spot internationally in BBC Xtra 1 radio. In an interview with Chrispin, he said the song has surpassed their expectations with its popularity. He said the song has touched souls across the country with its spiritual lyrics with its house tempo beats.
Chrispin indicated that although his career was launched by his then popular track Fire on the Mountain, Sedi Laka brings in maturity saying the fans should expect great things from the album.
He also added that his team is working on the video for Sedi Laka which they also expect to be a hit and popular among the viewers, saying they will be distributing it outside the country to music channels.
To his Ghanzi fans, Chrispin said they should come in prepared for lots of drums and no ‘Mickey Mouse’ Djiing for this show. He added that he will be bringing along his ‘kettle juice’ which he explained is his brand and also gives him the urge to do magic on stage.
He said people had often associated him with drugs because of his energy levels on stage; “it is the kettle juice that keeps me on an adrenaline mode”, he quipped.
The performance of Sedi Laka is expected to revive Ghanzi’s Hill Talk club popularly known as Tshola Uzwe. Victor Itomeng, the manager of the club noted that the club has not been doing well in the past months and Chrispin’s Sedi Laka performance came at the right time when the single track is still fresh on the patrons’ minds.
He said the show is themed black with the assumption that it is winter and colour black oozes warmth. Chrispin will be supported by Ghanzi local Djs Baba Huuten The DrumKid Bw, Beekay Bekz and Victor. ENDS
