The youth in Bobonong said constituency competitions have granted them a chance to showcase their talent in order to better their lives. Speaking in an interview Gae Lame theatre group acting manager, Kefilwe Mozana said for her, constituency competitions have bridged the gap of unemployment.
Mozana who has committed her life to drama said even though she is not working, she is able to sustain herself and her family with the money she gets from the constituency competitions. She added that constituency competitions are beneficial as they have helped curb acts of indiscipline among the youth adding that as for now alcohol consumption and use of drugs among the youth is minimal.
Mozana said drama or theatre is her life time job.
“I fell in love with drama while I was still at primary school. From that time I never looked back until I reached senior school,” she added. Mozana said during her school days she even received awards for being the best actress in drama.
Moreover, she said since the commencement of constituency competition their theatre group (Gae Lame) has won in almost every competition and that earned them recognition by different departments as well as private companies. Mozana emphasised that for now they get called by government institutions like Bobonong District Health Management Team to help spread messages through drama performances during events or campaigns.
However, she highlighted that people should not take drama as a form of entertainment but a career path. She urged the youth with talent to come out of their cocoons and showcase their talent to better their lives. ENDS
