Mokgwathise murder case at assessment stage

Investigations for the murder of Mr Mosimanegape ‘Morse’ Mokgwathise are complete.
Court is now awaiting assessment of the evidence.
Appearing for the state before Magistrate Letsholo Thekololo at Lobatse Magistrate Court, Inspector Legodile Sennafela said that the evidence was at the Divisional District Criminal Iinvestigating Division office for assessment, adding that the evidence included forensic photographs, which were still being processed and would need approximately three months to be ready.
The charge sheet reads thus the accused in the matter; Yvonne Mokgwathise, who is the deceased widow, Phemelo Thekoetsile and Clifford Nonofo, on March 9, 2015 at Mogojogojo, acting together and in consent, murdered gospel artiste, Mosimanegape Mokgwathise of Matlhomoleng fame.
The deceased was found dead behind a pit latrine at his place, with a wound under his left armpit. He seemed to have been stabbed with a sharp object. A family spokesperson revealed then that the deceased was well and had never complained of having any health problems before his death.
He was one of the pioneers of gospel music in the country and was working at Debswana Jwaneng Mine. The fourth born in a family of six siblings died at the age of 48. He had released a total of four albums. The accused are still on bail and the matter is set to mention on July 25, 2016. ENDS
