Onza aims for the stars
27 Apr 2016
Kose Kenosi, also known as Onza, adds to the growing list of comedians in the country who continue to make an impact on the local comedy industry.
He used the Presidential Arts Competitions as a platform to introduce himself as a comedian, a feat he does with ease.
He however said in an interview that easy as it may seem, doing comedy was not a child’s play as the audience expects the comedian to elicit laughs as fast as possible.
“Comedy is making its mark in the country due to the opportunity presented to us by President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama.
It is upon us the comedians to work hard to repay his efforts and all the resources that were invested on us,” said 27-year-old Kenosi.
Kenosi, who was born and bred in Sebina, said he started doing comedy in 2014 after realising that he had a great sense of humour.
He got position three last year during the Presidential Arts Competitions and he is optimistic that he will emerge victorious in this year’s competitions.
He expressed satisfaction in the manner in which comedy has been received in the country.
The young comedian encouraged other artists, especially those with the love and desire to do comedy, to explore their creativity as it was the best weapon they need to be successful in the venture. ENDS
