Kago Kadikwe and Bontsi Gaborone recently won Mr and Miss Public Service, Ministry of State President, respectively.

The two emerged victors at a preliminary eliminations pageant which was held at the Mass Media auditorium.

Deputy permanent secretary- corporate services at the Office of the President Boikhutso Botlhole said in an interview that they wanted the beauty queen and king to become ambassadors of the ministry.

She said the ministry had programmes which had to be delivered to the public by their staff, especially their youthful officers.

Botlhole said the contest was essential as it groomed the youth in the public service to reach greater heights in their professions. Kadikwe, who was the only male contestant, said he was prepared to represent his ministry against representatives from other ministries.

He said that he wanted to change the public perception of the quality of service delivery among public officers.

He said that there was a concern about the quality of the service they delivered.

Asked about her preparedness,  Gaborone said she was eager to represent the ministry.

“My colleagues have always encouraged me to join, and I have always been reluctant. Now that I am Ms State President, I intend to use my skills and knowledge to help the underprivileged. ENDS
