Kayzees star on upward spiral

Afro Soul/Jazz artist, Kagiso ‘Kayzee’ Mangole, is building himself an impressive music career.

The young lad is tapping into the music market with the release of his second album dubbed Pina tsa Lerato.

The album was released early this year and it is already receiving airplay in radio stations.

Kayzee has already performed on Botswana Television programmes such as Meriting, Mokaragana and Flava Dome.

Kayzee said in an interview that he had produced music for Mapetla, Dj Canny Makhenzo, The Real Magosi just to name a few. Upon finishing his Cambridge, the musician, who is also gifted in playing different kinds of instruments produced Vee’s first single track Pompa Tswiditswidi which was also his first music production that shaped his career.

Kagiso also had an opportunity to work with artists from South Africa. 

He noted that in 2010 together with Dr Duda of Micasa fame they collaborated on hype track for the 2010 soccer World Cup. 

He said the same song was in Dj Easy Bee’s debut, a great achievement that he said showed that Botswana had talented people.

He explained that his talent started to show when he was at Selepa Junior Secondary School where he started a school band before moving to Maters Spei College.

The multi-talented Kayzee said at the age of 6, he acquired the skills of playing keyboards while he began to perfect his vocal chords at Sunday school.

In 2011, he released his first album of 12 tracks titled Mma Montsho.

He released the album under the name Kayzee and this brought him a great opportunity to work with several organisations.

The multi-talented Afro Soul/Jazz and producer did music cultural exchange with the US embassy and the cultural exchange included Anthony Stanco & The crucial Elements both from USA and locally Kabo Leburu, Tshepo Lesole and Tomeletso Sereetsi & The Natives. Ends
