Captain Dira to release Mmaarona

After three years in absence, traditional music sensation Dickson Diratsagae Mahupela popularly known as Captain Dira has decided  to release his long awaited album this month.

The Matsiloje born lad said in an interview that he has been working hard to put the final touches to the traditional jazz album as he did not want to disappoint his loyal fans.

Mmaarona celebrates and appreciate woman who gave birth to us and raised us to be who we are today, their input is priceless,” he said.

Captain Dira said the album was recorded at Urban flavo records and Storms records.

The traditional jazz album consists of eight songs, Lorato,Mmaarona,Kelekana Dibabalase and Tebele.

‘’Having previously released my album titled Rragwe Software Vol 2, I decided to switch from what I sang to traditional jazz because I feel it is appropriate for my age and it also appeal to both elderly and youth,’’he added.

He said Mmaarona is an album that contains strong messages such as taking care of one self and also reflects on the achievement of Botswana as a  country.

He also said the two lead singles Mmaarona and Tebele are much loved among Batswana and continue to receive massive airplays in the country.

As to what he has been up to, he said he have been busy doing campaigns around the country with different organisations which kept him busy.

He appealed to Batswana and different organisations to support local music as its home grown talent that they should pride their self with. Ends
