Southern District commissioner, Mmoloki Raletobana, says preparations for the country’s golden jubilee in his area of jurisdiction are on track.
Speaking in an interview recently, he said the district had made a lot of progress regarding Bot50 preparations to ensure success of the event.

He said the publicity committee spearheaded by the logistics team had started sensitising people about Bot50 preparations and implored all to come on board to ensure that the celebrations gets the magnitude it deserves.
However, he said each sub-district would be celebrating on its own, adding he had tasked committees in their respective areas to come up with sculptures that depicted their cultural values or anything of historical significance or whatever they cherish the most depending on their choice. Raletobana said resource permitting they will consider buying merchandise for Bot50 to intensify the sensitisation process for the envisaged glamorous event.
He said they ponder lining up activities such as different sports codes depending on the sub-districts’ proficiency in that particular sport code for the celebrations to electrify the country’s golden jubilee.
He said as for the Kanye Administrative Authority sub-district, the event will be graced by prominent people as the region is blessed by prominent people in the likes of the second president, Sir Ketumile Masire and the country’s former cabinet minister, Archibald Mogwe, among others.
He said Batswana should embrace the past and consider the future as they celebrate, adding they should look into all aspects of life and ponder what made the country to where it is that could catapult the nation further or beyond. Ends
