Botswana Television’s reality music talent show, My Star is on its 10^th year and is being celebrated in style. 

The producer’s intention is to unearth and nurture art talent that the youth possess and has now brought all former stars of the show to battle it out for a coveted prize.

In an interview with the competition director, Keabetswe ‘Master Dee’ Sesinyi said season 10 was dubbed ‘Best of the Best’ as they would be celebrating their successes. He said the ‘Best of the Best’ is meant to honour all contestants and supporters who have made the show possible since its inception.

Sesinyi also said the show was different from the previous seasons, as there had not been any auditions and that the hot potato has been thrown to previous season’s winners, runners up and other promising contestants.

He noted that the competition   was also meant for the best to lock horns to demonstrate their aptitude when brought under one roof.

He said the stiff competition would challenge contestants to learn from each other so that they could carry on making superstars in the music industry.

During the performances, Kabo, Bianca, Ontefetse, Lazarus, Dineo, Ramonyai, Obakeng, Boikanyo and Tshephang did not disappoint as they came out with blazing guns to show their supporters and opponents that they mean business. 

They all sang their hearts out singing the songs really well to send cold chills down the spines of the crowd that thronged the Lobatse Senior Secondary School multi-purpose hall.

Kabo impressed the judges and left them stunned when he sang Backstreet Boys’ song titled Incomplete while Boikanyo also stole the show when he performed Beyoncé’s song I was here.

Since the competition was stiff, Wendy, Tlhagiso and Lebogang had to battle it out to the next round as they all received the lowest votes.

Wendy ran out of luck and had to kiss the show goodbye as the judges were not impressed with her performance. Ends
