After realising that his stage name Ezebizo does not relate well with music enthusiasts, the traditional musician has rebranded to Kgosikgolo.
The Gabane based traditional musician said in an interview that he chose the name that music fans would relate with and would also reflect his music style.
“My song and dance is of royalty and music is my heritage,” Kgosikgolo quipped.
In addition to the change of name, the musician has also released a nine tack album titled Bagaka.
Some of the songs that stand out in the album are Banna ba rata go tsietsa, Rre Mandela and Tautona Ian Khama and Haiti-ke lela le lona.
The traditional musician said he was working on the bagaka DVD which would be released soon.
Kgosikgolo said he was first introduced to the musical journey in 1996 at junior school where he was trained by Ngwao Loshalaba as a singer and dancer.
He said he chose traditional music because it was a genre which celebrates the country’s rich culture. He noted that groups such as Machesa, Matsieng and Gong Master have already made their mark locally and in neighbouring countries which was a stepping stone for upcoming artists. Ends
