The Fashion Without Borders (FWB) is back with a bang.

Gaborone will host the event under the theme: Trends of the Decade, Celebrating 50 years of Botswana’s Independence.

One of the event organisers, Tebo-Bakwena Kabisoso of Efigy Productions Management said in an interview that the show would feature 50 models and 40 of them would be from Botswana and 10 internationals.

“We have decided to use 50 models to highlight the country’s big number and through the models, we will also highlight the transformation of the country’s fashion industry from 1966 to today,” she said.

Kabisoso said auditions for models was scheduled for February 27 at Molapo Stanbic Piazza from 9am until 2pm.

She said the selected models would be given an opportunity to undergo training and grooming workshop for two days and they would pay P250.

She said designer’s auditions will take place on March 13 same venue and that a total of 18 designers will this year get the opportunity to showcase their collection on world stage.

“The designers comprise of 10 from Botswana, four South Africa as well as 1 from Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and DRC,” she said.

She said those selected will also undergo a five-day training workshop.  Kabisoso said the training would guide the designers on how to incorporate the theme of the event into their works.

Kabisoso thus urged young Batswana models and designers looking to get experience and within the industry to take advantage of the event.
