Police investigate Borolong deaths

17 Feb 2016

A man shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself on Monday afternoon in Borolong near Francistown.

Speaking in an interview, Tati Town police's assistant station commander, Assistant Superintendent Clarkson Mbereki said the deceased (both in their 40s) were at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital mortuary. Their neighbour, who was also shot during the incident, was admitted at the hospital in a critical condition.

Assistant Superintendent Mbereki said, according to their investigations, the rifle used belonged to the deceased man and it was not yet clear what had transpired between the two.

Investigations were on going to determine cause of the conflict. He appealed to families and partners to always seek counselling whenever they had misunderstandings instead of resorting to taking decisions, which could be painful on their families. Ends
