A 29 year old businesses man, Dithapelo Nkgowe has said delivering a good quality work to ensure customer satisfaction boosted his business.
Nkgowe who is armed with Associate Degree in TV and Film Production from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.
He owns, Cut Media Production a media house business that deals with film production, cartoon animation, photography and advertising.
Nkgowe started his company in April 2011 with funds that he got from constituency competitions after he played segaba and regularly won the competition at ward and constituency level.
“I was funded by the department of youth through Youth Development Fund programme in April 2011 to the tune of P91 000,”said Nkgowe.
He said after being funded that was when his business started to grow as he managed to buy all quality equipment that were needed by his company to be in full operation and produce quality work.
“My business currently has got three youth employees on a permanent basis,” said Nkgowe.
Nkgowe said after marketing his business through social media, flyers and signage, his business has managed to attract more customers from as far as Gaborone and Francistown.
“I am proud of quality work and excellent customer service that I give my customers especially in shooting wedding photos and making wedding videos, are things that make my customers to come back for my service and also recommend my service to new customers,” said Nkgowe.
He said he made some documentaries and music videos that have been aired in local and foreign television stations which shows that his quality work is being recognised and his aim to see his work being aired on international television stations is on track.
Nkgowe said government departments in Bobonong are not willing to assist youth businesses to grow by awarding them tenders; rather they prefer companies and individuals that come from outside the village to do the jobs that could be easily done locally.
“Sometimes these companies and individuals who come from outside fail to do the work or get stuck on the way and that is when we are called to rescue,” said Nkgowe.
He said sometimes they are informed to apply for tenders in a short period of time and ordered to submit their bids quickly thus failing to get time to prepare well.
Nkgowe advised youth entrepreneurs to be patient and always work hard if they want to succeed in their businesses.
“I encourage youth to do partnership in businesses so that they can share the few customers that are available and also to bring together their ideas that can make their businesses grow up,” he said. ENDS
