Tlatsalebala gains momentum

Tshepiso Molapisi, known as Kast, is planning an event that is expected to fill up the National Stadium on May 14. Henny Maruapula, one of the organisers of the #TlatsaLebala campaign, said in an interview that the initiative would see a 100 per cent Botswana line-up.

“The event aims to be a game changer in the arts and culture landscape in Botswana.

It encourages artists in Botswana to do it on their own,” he said. Henny said some of the artists that will join Kast will be decided by the public through an sms platform that is in planning phase.

“The carrying capacity of the National Stadium is 22 500, but with the north and south stands being renovated, it will be slightly less people. We will use the pitch and the remaining stands to fill up the stadium,” he said, indicating that tickets were already available at Spar Kiosks countrywide via Webtickets.

Tickets were also available at Riverwalk Information Kiosk, Press 24 Coffee shop by Molapo Crossing and Maitisong.

“Early bid tickets are P100 and once they are done, normal price tickets are P150 and P750 for VVIP,” he said.

The event will start with a family fun day from 10am to 6pm, and turn into a bash thereafter. Henny further said more information and updates regarding #TlatsaLebala can be obtained by following @hennymaps or @kastalion1 on twitter and Henny Maruapula or Kast on Facebook.

He said that they had a security team in their organising committee. He added that they are also working with the Botswana Police Service and the Botswana National Sports Council security personnel to ensure a safe concert. Ends
