Man Found Unconscious

07 Feb 2016

Police in Jwaneng are investigating a case in which a 33 year old man of Sese village was found unconscious after a drinking spree in the early hours of January 24, 2016.

Assistant Superintendent Jimmy Selema revealed in an interview that they were informed that the victim was on a drinking spree the previous day at one of the bars at Unit 8 and was identified by a passerby the following morning who called his brother.

He explained that the man who did not have any visible injuries was rushed to Jwaneng Mine hospital and later transferred to Princess Marina Hospital on a critical condition. He is currently admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after blood was discovered in his brain tissues.

“The victim is in a comma and we have since started investigations in the matter to find out if there might be any foul play or he just fell on his own due to drunkenness,” he added.

He said failure to report the incident to the police on time by his relatives made complicated their investigations. He pleaded with the public to report incidents on time in order to give the police time to deal with the matter while it is still fresh.

He said they will however do their best to give the matter the benefits of justice irrespective of the delay. Ends
