Tati Town police are investigating an incident in which a newborn baby was found dead in a cooler box.

Superintended Cyprian Magalela said the cooler box was found in the bush between Orapa Junction and the Train Bridge along the A30 road.

He stated that the police were tipped off by a passer-by and rushed to the scene where they found the child in a cooler box and immediately took her to Nyangabwe Referral Hospital where she was certified dead.

Supt Magalela pleaded with the public to assist them with any information pertaining to the matter. On other issues, he said they had also recorded a fatal accident which took the lives of two people.

He said the accident occurred along the A3 road around midnight after a car hit a calf and the vehicle overturned.

Supt Magalela stated that there were only two people in the vehicle, a male driver aged 38 and a female passenger aged 23 who both lost their lives, adding that their names were withheld until their relatives had been notified. Ends
