Human remains found in Hukuntsi

28 Jan 2016

Tshane police have found what they suspect to be human remains at Senao cattle post, about 10 kilometres along the Hukuntsi/Zutshwa road last week Friday.

According Tshane Police Station Commander, Superintendent Othusitse Motswai, the remains were discovered by herdboys in search of donkeys who promptly notified the police.

Upon arrival at the scene, he said the police indeed found suspected human remains and a small bag and clothes scatted around the scene.

He said the remains were taken to pathologists for forensic examination, which confirmed the bones to be that of a boy aged between 16 and 17-years-old.

He said the pathologists’ findings also revealed that the boy could have died three or four weeks ago.

Even though police investigations are still on going, Superintendent Motswai noted that no missing person report has been registered with his office since 2012.

He pleaded with the public to liaise with the nearest police station if they know of any missing family member or friend. Ends
