Book aims to change lives
24 Jan 2016
Almost every successful person attributes much of their success to reading one or more of the books on advices in life and this was not different with Lesego Machacha of Chadibe.
He has a passion to change people’s lives through his book; Discover your purpose, which is about the journey of life.
It describes the trials and tribulations faced in life, which needed to be overcome only by discovering one’s purpose.
Discovering our purpose will make our lives be our dreams and be passionate about life. This practical book teaches about love, meditation, organising one’s day, and how to overcome challenges in life,” he said in an interview.
Machacha said when he was still a school going boy, he never read any books as he hated reading, but was more into sports.
“Put a ball in my hand or under my feet and I was good to go but put a book in front of my face and I will be fast asleep. I do not even know how I got through high school because I do not remember reading a single book,” he said.
Machacha further said he developed love for reading in 2011 when he was fired from work and that was when he realised that he did nothing for himself while he was still working.
He said he could read up to 40 books and they inspired him and that was when he developed a passion for writing.
“I used to read a lot of books and this book changed my life. I made it a goal of mine to write my own book that will change people’s lives for the better as it did to mine,” he noted.
First published in November 2015, the book was one of the most inspiring and impactful books about personal success.
The book aimed to fundamentally change how one perceived and interpreted the world and Machacha said one had to surround themselves with people who can encourage and inspire them, people who have the same vision.
Machacha was someone who made it by hard work and persistence and gives great quotes and practical advice based on experience. He said anyone could be successful if they were willing to put in the effort and are ready to work hard and sweat.
The author said Entrepreneur Expedition is the second book he is still cooking and it will be about the world of extreme endurance.
He said instead of telling one to attain success by seeking new areas in life, he teaches one as to how they could recognise and appreciate the gifts they already possess.
“These characteristics will lead you to a successful life and I show you the way to developing those gifts, directing them, and harnessing their power to achieve anything you want,” he added.
He said he plans to have his book in the libraries and bookshops and is still negotiating with shop owners and furthermore, he is working on a project where he will ask assistance from the government to enable him work with the youth, teach them about life and nurture them to grow and be business minded people.
