Marobela Home Coming Festival here

The history of the Marobela Home Coming festival is an inspiring tale. 

It is a moving one that draws inspiration from humble beginnings of one great name in today’s world of athletics, Nijel Amos. 

The 800-metre sprinter terms the music festival, which is also a charitable event, ‘a thank you’ gesture to his community. 

The festival, comprising of a mouthwatering lineup, is billed for Boxing Day.  

In his schoold days, Amos endured a  14km daily walk from his village to attend school at Shangano Junior Secondary School  in Sebina. 

Now as a living testimony to his early childhood memories, Amos plans to raise funds to buy a mini bus that will help children in this area enjoy free transport to school. 

The energetic runner, who also masters the spin discs and trading by the moniker, Dj Zorro, explained that the event was his brainchild with the help of his family and that they had not received any sponsorship. 

Topping the list of performers is award-winning motswako group, MMP Family known for their hit song Lebala ka nna, Jojo Gaonakala of Mpatiseng traditional music fame, Ricky Lamar, Gaone of Kopisa fame, Appollo Diablo, RB 2’s DJ Gouveia and DJ T Izzy of I run like Nijel Amos song.

Meanwhile, on Christmas day all roads will lead to Khakhea, where South African controversial songstress, Kelly Khumalo will be entertaining the audience alongside Bingo Congas of Mas’hambeni song, popularly known as Masakeng

The annual Tshaba Tshutshu music festival is on its third edition and will feature some prominent disc jockeys from as far as Lesotho and South Africa. DJ T-Bouz of Sister Betinah fame is also expected to grace the event. Ends
