Annah Yangu win inaugural teen pageant

Annah Batlang and Yangu Masalila were crowned Miss Teen Botswana and Miss Junior Teen respectively.
The pageant held at Phakalane Golf Estate was organised by Madam Queen Modelling Agency and Super Model Inc.
The 12 -year -old Annah who is a pupil at Hillcrest International School said the platform was just the start of the beginning of the future of the vision, that she has, which is becoming the next Miss Botswana .
“I am more lady like and I know that if I put my mind in anything, I will definitely achieve it,” she said
For his part, 8 years old Yangu - a Rainbow Primary School pupil said having won the title meant a lot to her as it accorded her the opportunity to help other people, using her beauty which was not only physical, but also inside her.
“I want to show people that there is beauty inside them as well as outside,” she said.
The event organiser Rumbi Chakamba said they were looking for “girls with sparkling personalities, who want to be involved in their community, gain leadership skills, make new friends and be a role model to others.” Part of contesting involved raising funds for Childline, no pageant experience was necessary, and Miss Teen delegates ages ranged from 8-12 years.
She said the recruitment was done only in Gaborone as the pageant was still at its infancy, adding that they were planning to reach at least two towns next year.
In the Miss Junior Teen, Theo Tshiping was second princess while Kathleen
Goya became the first princess. Angelle Van-Zyl, scooped 1stfirst princess, while Lefika Tladi got to be the second princes in the Miss Teen category.
Price awards included, tablets to all the winners, voucher from JB Sport, dresses from Kgalahari Quilt, voucher from Fashion World, modeling portfolio, modeling representation for a year, from Supper Model and Madam Queen Inc. Bokhutlo
