Mabengano seeks world glory

 With only a few weeks to take it to the Beauty Crown Grand Theatre in Sanya-China, Botswana’s Seneo Mabengano is said to be in China participating in various activities of the Miss World 2015 competition slated for December 19,  2015.

In an interview with BOPA, Botswana Council of Women (BCW) officials say 19 year old 1.76 metre tall Miss Botswana 2015  Mabengano has arrived well in China and has been in constant contact with them. BCW official Gaolekwe Kwape said Miss Botswana left on the 20th . She landed in China on the 21st and the competition started immediately after her arrival.

She said on Tuesday that Seneo participated in Dances of the World activity using Hosanna traditional attire and she was chosen to give a speech. 

She said the public is encouraged to vote for Seneo to enable her to stand a better chance in the competition through the People’s Choice Award in which the winner automatically proceeds to join the top 10 semi-finalists. She encouraged people to visit http://www.lvka168.com/missworld/voting and vote for Mabengano to place her in a better position to bring the crown home.

Further, she said there is a Miss World App through which Batswana can choose the top three via the Voting Panel on the Miss World App and the votes will decide which beauty queen will be the People’s Choice Award Winner at the Miss World Final.

According to the official Miss World 2015 website, in order to win Miss World, contestants must score the “highest points, awarded for a range of activities and events which take place from the moment the contestants arrive at the competition. 

Five challenge events take place in the run up to the final; Beauty with a Purpose, Multimedia, Sports, Talent and Top Model. These offer the chance for the contestants to shine, giving them the opportunity to win important points.”

The beauty queens will battle it out to be crowned after the reigning Miss World 2014 beauty queen Rolene Strauss who hails from South Africa.

Seneo hails from Mmadinare and is currently studying at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. She aspires to set up a children’s foundation and art gallery with a focus on promotion of native art. Ends
