Matsha students perish in road accident

An unconfirmed number of Matsha College students died after a truck they were travelling in overturned near Dutlwe in the Letlhakeng Sub-district.

In an interview at the scene of the accident, Takatokwane police station commander, Superintendent Ocean  Maraganyane, could not confirm the exact number of the dead students because he was still to check with health facilities where students were rushed.

However, some eye witnesses expressed fear that at least seven students could have died on the spot. Supt Maraganyane said they suspected that the driver of the truck could have lost control of the vehicle following a tyre burst.

He said the accident occurred around 2pm today (November 13). The students were Remote Area Dwellers who were being transported to their villages after completing their BGCSE examinations at Matsha College in Kang. end
