Creative arts show the way

It has been said that the future of job creation in Botswana lies within the creative industry and with what is happening currently one cannot be faulted for putting their faith in this massive industry that seems to be growing in leaps and bounds.
Government has for the past few months been encouraging young people to come up with initiatives and young vibrant Batswana have answered that call and it is exciting times in Botswana.
Thabo Drew Chadhall is one such young person who has come up with a unique concept and he seems to be reaping the rewards of his hard work and passion for what he does.
Bojanala Waterfront was the place to be on Saturday November 7 as The Pop-Up Shop Market Show was in full swing.
Most people only know of the young Chadhall as a radio personality on Yarona Fm with his Krazy Normal show that is on Saturday (3pm-7pm) and Sunday (9pm-12am), but he is also an entrepreneur.
With the success of his first launch of The Pop-Up Shop Market Show that was held sometime in April, this time around it was even bigger and better than the last time.
With over thirty stalls at the show, Drew indicated that the initiative offers the opportunity for small businesses in food, music, art and fashion to showcase their products and services in a way that markets their ventures in a pop-up style market show.
Refined lifestyle events are very rare in Botswana, but with endorsements and praises from organizations such as South African Tourism and O3 Beverages, Thabo Drew Chadhall hopes to make it an even greater success as the years broadening the spectrum and bringing in newer and larger corporations to brand the event.
Drew said the event is a partnership with Native Events founded by another young person Numan Ramotokwane and the show is also powered by Couture Confections, New Capitol Cinemas, Yarona Fm, The Echo Newspaper, RollaSole, Sky Girls and organized by edmLIVEprojects.
“This will be a bi-annual event,” he concluded.
Thato Ross Tshiamo, director of public relations at Dark Wolf Communications said Drew’s plan is to assist the growth of small businesses including providing a platform for networking with potential clients and investors, developing marketing collateral like pictures and videos for future use, and increasing exposure by leveraging the media in attendance for brand recognition.
The event was truly amazing besides a few hiccups with electricity and the ambience was awesome and one cannot wait for next year for The Pop-Up Shop Market Show. ENDS
