Mascom Live Sessions to close the year in style

28 Oct 2015

With only two months left before Botswana welcomes 2016 and on our journey to celebrating 50 years of Independence, Botswanacraft is looking to close the year on a high with top notch performances for the last two laps of Mascom Live Sessions for 2015.

Now in its fifth year, Mascom Live Sessions have become synonymous with BotswanaCraft and one always expects world class performances from artists that are billed to grace the stage as expectations over the years have always been met, and it will be no different on November 6 and November 20.

With November 6 becoming the 28th installment of the sessions, it will be none other than platinum-selling South African singer/model/actress  Lira alongside our very own singer and songwriter Samantha Mogwe to serenade music lovers with their silky voices.

Lira has already conquered South Africa and much of Europe with her irresistible blend of R&B, Jazz and African styles and people should brace themselves for a fun filled music show.

26 year old Samantha Mogwe is one of the best RnB singers that Botswana prides itself with and the award winning talented singer continues to grow as a musician, and perfect her craft.

The married singer lives a very private and calm life, and she has amassed a couple of accolades ever since she broke into the music scene and has never disappointed when she does take to the stage to do what she does best and tickets for the November 6 show are already on sale and going for P300.

With the November 20 show, it promises to be a cracker as it will be the last Mascom Live Sessions of the year.

Soul and R&B fanatics will witness Joss Stone in the flesh at Botswanacraft and the acclaimed singer will play alongside Botswana's own Abigail Isa and the Contrabanditz.

Joss Stone is a Grammy award winner from the UK and according to the organizers; tickets for the show will sell for P400 and will be available in advance from 9th November.

Stone rose to fame in late 2003 with her multi-platinum debut album, The Soul Sessions, which made the 2004 Mercury Prize shortlist.

Contrabanditz, the newly formed band, consists of  musicians from different backgrounds: Mandiswa Mabutho, Tebogo 'Debbie with a T', percussionist Sebabatso, Boski Senwelo, vocalist-cum-guitarist Tafadzwa 'Tafnaz' Nazare and rapper-cum-drummer, Japhala 'Aether' Gwangwa, will also get the chance to sizzle on stage as they look to hold their own against Joss Stone.

The Contrabanditz is a rich collective of musicians who have performed at different platforms such as Maitisong, the Malaysia Music festivals among others and their genres cover RnB, adult contemporary music, jazz and funk.

Botswanacraft has always hosted well coordinated and hassle free shows and they have been hosts to international acts such as Salif Keita, Hugh Masekela, Oliver Mtukudzi, Freshlygroud, our very Kearoma Rantao, Banjo Mosele, Socca Moruakgomo, Ndingo Johwa among others.ENDS
