Young motswako artiste turns to philanthropy
18 Oct 2015
Upcoming motswako prodigy Tlamelo Joseph, popularly known in music circles as Reacxion is set to refine the multifaceted music industry by venturing into philanthropy. The talented singer from Mahalapye has defied the odds and devised a strategy aimed at developing the socio-economic well-being of Batswana especially young people.
Reacxion said he was in a campaign to restore the dignity of young people especially vulnerable children.
He freely admits that he grew up as an angry teenager when his family could not entertain his passion for hip hop music. In a broader sense, this could have been the tipping point that eventually led to his aggressiveness in helping other young people survive the pangs of life.
Reacxion found solace in emulating and basking in the success stories of renowned hip hop artistes who had an unhappy childhood but against all odds reached for the stars.
The young artiste has recently engaged Woolworths Botswana to donate clothes, shoes and stationary to Childline Botswana.
This resulted in a collaboration with other artistes to put together a song dubbed One Nation that featured celebrated jazz sensation Kearoma Rantao, Nono Siile, Amo Moatlhaping and Botswana Television Silent Shout presenter Ame Makoba.
Reacxion’s spirit of giving back to the community will at the end of this month take him to Cheshire Foundation in Mogoditshane to donate items there.
He has also released a new single titled Kasi s’phuma khona which has enjoyed massive airplay in local radio stations and debuted in Btv’s Flavadome. Reacxion is the founder of The Help Foundation, which was set up in 2010 to help the needy families.
He was also amongst the artistes who built a one roomed house for a man in Mahalapye in 2012. He has also been invited by organsations such as Faith Mission to help raise funds to build houses for orphans. Ends
