Kabelo Eric to perform in Zimbabwe
13 Oct 2015
Gospel star, Kabelo Eric, will perform in Zimbabwe after he received an invitation to attend the SADC Green Expo.
He said in an interview that the invitation from Zimbabwe Sunshine Group meant he would be Botswana’s representative at the expo and be part of the theme song for the expo to the SADC Community Green Waste Energy Expo.
The youthful singer from Sikwane said the expo would be held October 22-24 in Harare.
The mission of the expo is to provide a forum for SADC community action groups to discuss possible ways of knowledge based practices on economically rewarding and self-sustaining waste and energy and alternative clean energy utilisation in the region and to update, educate and align themselves with local, national and regional communities with entrepreneurial developments that positively impact on the future of energy resources.
Eric said he believed that the panel had been following him on social media about his music and international appearances, and also looking at his influence in the regional gospel music.
The star who won the award called Museke Online Affroteinment Music Award for best religious song with his song A e Phethehe in 2011 keeps on lifting Botswana flag abroad.
The expo would be the fourth Edition of the SADC- Community Green, Waste and Energy Expo that will take place at the Harare Exhibition Park (Show Ground) running under the theme “Unlocking wealth in waste and energy for sustainable Green SADC Region Economies.”
He said he is humbled by the invitation to be part of the great initiative and also to be able to sell Botswana outside through his music.
He said it is an honour as he will work with other great gospel artists on SADC to do the collaboration song on the theme song.
The Expo’s critical activities include capacity building and effective implementation of different activities, utilisation of effective participatory communication methodologies in raising awareness and education on waste and energy for the economic benefit of communities in the region.
The objectives of SADC Green Expo 2016 is to create an interactive platform to exhibit eco-friendly waste and energy products, services and best practices, to showcase waste as a renewable raw-material, to lobbying and advocating for financing of the implementation of green, waste and energy projects.
