China Jiangsu has donated P12 000 to Boipuso Primary School in Palapye.

Handing over the cheque to the school recently, the company’s representative, Mr Uyapo Pitso, said it was an honour and privilege for China Jiangsu to donate to the school’s academic and extra-curricular achievements.

He said the company was happy to extend a helping hand to institutions of learning such as Boipuso.

He said this was primarily anchored on their cooperate social responsibility to give back to the community as well as heeding the government’s appeal for the private sector to help improve conditions of learning institutions.

Mr Pitso further said the nation’s aspiration for an educated and informed nation remained a fundamental key thus it was a priority area that needed collective, collaborative and genuine efforts by both private and public entities in bid to enhance national development. 

Receiving the cheque, acting Boipuso Primary School head, Mrs Gertrude Kgosietsile, said the funds would help pupils on academics, sports and drama as well as help the school hold prize giving ceremonies.

The latter, she said, served as an incentive for pupils to compete with each other in the areas of academics and sports, adding that some of her students were selected to represent this country at Confederation of Southern African School Sport Association (COSASSA) in Zambia and Namibia.

She said the school also pride itself with a strong traditional dance group which scooped position one in zone competitions. Ends
