MatolwaneLesenepole now called Lesenepole

A village, which was previously known as Matolwane/Lesenepole, will now be officially called Lesenepole.
"Following the elections to select the name for the combined village, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development wishes to officially inform the public that the village shall herein and henceforth be known as Lesenepole, thus ending the protracted impasse," states a press release from the ministry.
The release says pursuant to a High Court order, Mosebi and others v The Attorney General and others, elections to name the village previously known as Matolwane/Lesenepole were held on August 1, 2015 to resolve the matter. About 1 278 residents voted for the name Lesenepole while 504 voted for Matolwane. Ends
