Kweneng District Commissioner, Dr Themba Mmusi, has urged government departments in the district to work togethr. 

Addressing Kweneng full council, he said unity was important because even though different stakeholders hold different mandates, they complement one another, adding that ministries and department should share resources if need arises for ease of service delivery.

He further noted that it should be a norm for every stakeholder to make customer service their priority. He said by so doing, applicable services and initiatives would bear fruit.

The district commissioner also urged all councillors to unite and work towards servicing the people. 

Dr Mmusi also said it was imperative for appropriate stakeholders to attend to the issues raised by councillors during the council session.

He expressed disappointment at government departments that failed to present their reports and those that failed to attend the council session to answer the councillors’ questions, adding that such tendency cripples the councillors’ mandate of serving the community diligently.

He also challenged the councillors to presents facts and real situations that transpire in their wards. 

He further said employment creations, issues of corruption, destitute housing as well as reception classes, PMTCT and other initiatives should be urgently addressed.

In response, councillors appreciated the district commissioner’s road map, which stipulates how he intended to follow and implement pending projects in the district, saying it was a good initiative for the development of the district.  Ends
