The Kanye branch of Botswana Civil Service Pensioners Association recently donated toiletry to under privileged children at Kgodisong Centre. The Centre is a pre-school for orphans and vulnerable children aged between two and six years old and has a total of 57 children.
Mr Ephraim Raseboko, who is the association’s secretary said they found it necessary to contribute to the pre-school for the realisation of the national vision pillar of a caring, just and a compassionate nation.
“Our gesture may not be huge but we believe it is better than nothing,” he said.
For his part, Mr Ofentse Solomon, Kgodisong Centre school head thanked the association for the good gesture and for choosing them from the many possible beneficiaries across the country. The gifts, he said, would go a long way in meeting the needs of the children.
A member of the Parents Teachers Association, Ms Ogaufi Bokete welcomed the gesture, saying it would remain etched in the school’s management minds.
She called on the association to continue with the good work of assisting many underprivileged children across the country. The association donated 60 toothbrushes, 60 toothpastes, 30 toilet papers, seven bathing soaps and three face towels. Ends
