Mochudi police investigate rape incidents

Mochudi Police are investigating incidents of rape that occurred during the independence holidays.
In an interview, Assistant Supt. Wazha Zambezi said they were investigating a case in which a 20-year-old woman was raped by a boyfriend on independence day when they came back from a night out.
He said the investigations were still on going to find out what could have happened, adding that the culprit had been apprehended. In another rape incident, he said a 15-year-old girl of Makgophana ward in Mochudi was reportedly raped on independence day.
Also, he said a 22-year-old woman of Boseja was raped by an unknown culprit on Friday when she returned from a night out.
He said the culprit waylaid the woman after being dropped off by a taxi at around 4am and raped her. The culprit, he said was still at large, while police investigations were still on going.
In other incidents, he said there was a house break-in at Makakatlela ward in Mochudi, last Thursday, where robbers forced entry into a house and stole a plasma television set and 2kg of chicken. Meanwhile, he said a road accident occurred on Sunday near Artesia, where a 43-year-old man driving a Toyota Hilux hit a Volvo car.
The initial investigations, he said had revealed that the driver had tried to overtake the car, but hit it on the side. He said the driver had a fractured collar bone, while passengers in the other car escaped unhurt. Ends
