Madi Majwana launches second season

Popular radio drama, Madi Majwana: Story from Your Pockets, is set to launch its second season this coming Wednesday (October 7) at Maitisong.

 Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture,Thapelo Olopeng, Bank of Botswana deputy governor, Oduetse Motshidisi and Barclays Bank Managing Director, Reneitte Van der Merwe are expected to grace the launch.

In an interview, Maitisong director, Gao Lemmenyane said with the success of the first season, it was apparent that they continued with radio show.

“Evidence has shown that the radio drama is popular and we thought we should continue with it,” Lemmenyane said, adding they would also launch the ReadytoWork initiative.

“Madi Majwana is a radio drama created by Maitisong and Barclays Bank to educate young people in particular and the nation at large on financial management and other related topics that people face every day,” he said.

Again, he said over the three years the drama had been running, it had given hope to many young people through employment creation and skills development to tackle everyday life occurrences.

On the ReadytoWork, Lemmenyane said the initiative was aimed at helping young people build their skills in making critical transitions from education into the working environment.

“It provides young people with access to digital face to face learning in developing their work, money and entrepreneurial skills to better equip them in securing employment or starting their own businesses,” he said.

The two projects are sponsored by Barclays Bank in partnership with Maitisong and Botho University. ENDS
