Comedians thrill

05 Oct 2015

Contrary to the name of the show, All Star Comedy night turned out to be a one man show. The All Star Comedy is a concept that brings together comedians from different countries such as Zimbabwe and South Africa to perform alongside their Botswana counterparts.

South Africa’s Tol Ass Mo was the main man on Friday at a comedy show where he rescued the second-rate Major Moves’ event.

He was the last to perform while the response from the audience evidenced that he was the man they certainly had waited for as he tickled everyone throughout his stage time. His material mainly comprises stories of his childhood and his challenging upbringing by his grandmother.

Accompanied by a youthful and charming exuberance as well as a fresh and unique perspective to his comedy collection, Mo is definitely a comedy heavyweight.

He has featured in the Aromat Comedy Tour, The Just Because Comedy Festival, Tshwane Comedy Festival, the Homecoming Comedy Tour, Triple O Comedy Show, the Comedy Show Live at Lyric, Metro FM Comedy Experience, Blacks Only, while he performed in Botswana for the first time.

However, Botswana’s upcoming comedian, Legusty portrayed a much promising talent in him at the All Star Comedy show.

With his fresh humorous material, the Mochudi -born star cracked many funny jokes which saw much appreciation from the audience. The MC also nearly stole the show, Zimbabwean Charles Manase was also the favorite of the night.

When he introduced himself he said “I am Charles Manase from Zimbabwe, people always ask me if I jumped the border and tell them there was a hole in the fence, I just went through.”

There was also popular Rekunde, who this time around did not perform to her best. Meanwhile, the audience seemed uncomfortable with South Africa’s renowned funny man, Karou Charou’s jokes, as there was too much vulgarity in his material. Ends
